Our Philosophy

The management of Wee Nippers Childcare and teams at Wee Nippers Early Childhood Centres in Invercargill and Mosgiel aim to provide high quality early childhood care and education for children in the community together with a support service for parents and caregivers. We intend to achieve this by providing superior facilities, a quality educational programme and well-qualified and caring staff.

Our teachers believe that children learn and develop in an early childhood environment where they are happy and secure. We also believe that they are happy and stimulated through being exposed to a wide range of educational activities and warm and caring staff.

We believe that the quality of the physical environment is essential to the well being of the children and the staff and that coupled with a quality educational programme, the parents will be confident that the choices they have made for their child’s education and care are the right ones.

Our aim is for children to grow up as confident and competent learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society. We believe that quality early childhood experiences promote the development of the child and will increase the opportunity for success through the child’s life.

Each centre has its own philosophy that reflects its own diverse community, location and personality. Each centre incorporates Wee Nippers Childcare values as appropriate for its tamariki, whanau, kaiako and kapa.
